100 Things...Written Slowly
  1. I have been blogging off and on since 2001. 
  2. Back then, I didn't have a "blog." I wrote in an "online journal."
  3. I really like to sleep. Really, really. 
  4. Ideally, I would get 9 hours of sleep each night plus a nap or two.
  5. My ideal sleep environment is a completely dark, silent room with a temp hovering at about 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. And I prefer to sleep under a sheet, a blanket, and a comforter.
  7. But I can sleep pretty much anywhere.
  8. And I have slept in cars, in trucks, in planes, on trains, on buses, on boats, on beaches, in airports, in a concert hall (once), in movie theaters (twice).
  9. But not in socks.
  10. I have probably given this too much thought.
  11. I probably give most things too much thought.
  12. I'm a bookworm, and I have always been a bookworm.
  13. I read everything. I mean, everything. Cereal boxes, shampoo bottles, everything.
  14. Deep down, I just don't understand people who don't like to read.
  15. It's like not enjoying learning. 
  16. I just don't get it.
  17. I'm a fan of board games, and I'm pretty competitive.
  18. Like, lose-your-friends-over-a-board-game competitive. 
  19. Refuse-to-speak-to-your-husband-all-night competitive. 
  20. You want me on your team, is what I'm saying.
  21. My favorite artificial flavor is "red," and my least favorite is "blue".
  22. Cotton candy grosses me out. 
  23. Also, I don't like raspberry anything.
  24. Or cooked mushrooms.
  25. Or spaghetti.
  26. Or anything else that reminds me of worms.
  27. Seven things I am very good at:
    1. Painting my fingernails.
    2. Learning new things.
    3. Remembering song lyrics.
    4. Recognizing faces.
    5. Brainstorming.
    6. Making systems more efficient.
    7. Asking questions.
  28. Five things I am not so good at:
    1. Small talk.
    2. Going to bed early.
    3. Going with the flow.
    4. Remembering names.
    5. Keeping in touch.
  29. I am nearly 31, and I do not know what I want to be think I actually want to be me when I grow up.
  30. The struggle comes in narrowing it down.
  31. I want to be everything!
  32. Some idea of how I am: When I was young, I used to get very anxious and frustrated by the fact that there could never be enough time for me to read all of the books I would like to read. 
  33. I have learned to cope with this by not thinking about it.
  34. Things that make normal people nervous (tests, interviews, etc.) really don't make me nervous much at all.
  35. Things that don't make normal people nervous (e.g., others standing while I'm sitting; placing phone calls to people I don't know well; doing seemingly simple, everyday things without a plan; small talk) make me extremely nervous. Extremely.
  36. But, man, I am the girl you want around in a crisis. 
  37. I will cry afterwards, for sure, but during the actual crisis, I'm your rock.
